About Free Cancellation Scheme
FCS is a feature that lets you change your plans without loosing any money with unnecessary extra charges. All you have to do is to opt for Free Cancellation while booking your train tickets. If at any point you had to cancel the tickets due to unforeseen circumstances, you can easily cancel your tickets, and we will return the ticket fare amount* to your original mode of payment.

1   How will it work?
Opt-in for “Free Cancellation” while booking a train ticket on the Trainman app by paying an additional “Free Cancellation Charge” & enjoy zero penalty in case you wish to cancel the booking.

To process your cancellation at zero penalty, open the Trainman app, go to the Bookings section and continue with cancelling your ticket. The waiver of IRCTC cancellation penalty for your ticket will be applied automatically.
2   What is the amount that I will receive as a refund, if I have opted for “Free Cancellation”?
The refundable amount is the “ticket fare” as shown while booking. However, if you have opted for FCS Pro, along with ticket fare, a percentage of Free Cancellation Charge will also be refunded.
3   Is “Free Cancellation” available for all classes and trains?
Yes, Free cancellation is available for all classes and trains.
4   How many hours prior to the train departure do I need to cancel my booking?
You must cancel booking at least 4 hours before the journey scheduled train departure or before the chart preparation (whichever is earlier), to avail full refund of the “ticket fare”. However, if you have opted for Free cancellation Pro, you are allowed to cancel ticket even after chart preparation.
5   When does the train chart get prepared?
Train chart preparation time is controlled by Indian Railways. The chart is usually prepared 4 hours before the train leaves the originating station. For early morning trains, the chart is usually prepared the night before.
6   How will I receive the claim amount under “Free Cancellation”?
Refunds will be credited into your original mode of payment. The refund will be initiated automatically.
7   How many days does it take for the refund to be credited, once I cancel my train booking?
The refund amount will be credited to the original mode of payment within 7 working days, from the date of booking cancellation.
8   Will I get a full refund if I cancel the booking?
In case of booking cancellation, only the “ticket fare” will be refunded. Other charges like Agent Commission, IRCTC Convenience Fee, Payment Gateway Charges and Free Cancellation Charges are non-refundable. However, if you have opted for Free cancellation Pro, 25% percentage of Free Cancellation Charge will be refunded.
9   What will happen if the train gets cancelled?
In such a case you don't need to cancel your booking manually. IRCTC will automatically initiate a refund of ticket fare, which will be credited to the original mode of payment.
10   What will happen in case the train gets diverted/terminated/partially cancelled?
In such a case you don't need to cancel your booking manually. TDR will have to be filed for receiving the ticket money refund as per IRCTC norms and Trainman is not liable to pay any amount.
11   What will I get as a refund when a waitlisted ticket booked under “Free Cancellation” is automatically cancelled after charting?
You are eligible for “ticket fare” refund on waitlisted auto-cancelled tickets. Apart from this 50% amount of the Free Cancellation Charge will be returned to you as TM Cash with a validity of 1 year.
In the case of FCS Pro, 25% of FCS Pro premium will be refunded back in the bank account.
Please note, the refund excludes the Agent Commission, IRCTC Convenience Fee, Payment Gateway Charges.

Free Cancellation Terms & Conditions
  • “Free Cancellation Charge” is the amount to be paid by the user to avail zero IRCTC cancellation charges while cancelling a ticket booked through Trainman.
  • Only the “ticket fare” will be refunded under “Free Cancellation”.
  • “Free Cancellation” can be availed only for passengers who have opted for a berth while booking.
  • IRCTC Convenience Fee, Payment Gateway Charges, Trainman Convenience Fee and “Free Cancellation Charges” are non-refundable.
  • The refundable amount is the “ticket fare” as shown while booking.
  • The booking must be cancelled before chart preparation or 4 hours prior to the scheduled train departure, whichever is earlier to avail the refund.
  • If your ticket remains waitlisted after chart preparation, you will be eligible for full “ticket fare” refund to your original payment mode and a 50% “Free Cancellation Charge” fee refund as TM Cash.
  • If a train is cancelled, the refund will be processed by IRCTC automatically.
  • If a train is partially cancelled, then TDR filing is necessary to obtain a refund from IRCTC.
  • If you have enabled the 'always include free cancellation' option, it will be applied to all your future bookings. Please opt out if you do not wish to make this your default option.
Free Cancellation Pro Terms & Conditions
  • FCS pro will allow users to cancel their train ticket after chart preparation till IRCTC allows.
  • “Free Cancellation Pro” can be availed only for passengers who have opted for a berth while booking.
  • In case of cancellation, users will be eligible for full train fare refund + 25% of FCS premium which will be refunded to the original source of payment.
  • Full train fare refund only refers to ticket fare. IRCTC Convenience Fee, Payment Gateway Charges, Trainman Convenience Fee are non-refundable.
  • If IRCTC does not permit cancellations after chart preparation, you will need to file a TDR. If your TDR is approved by IRCTC, you will receive a full train fare refund.
  • If a train is cancelled, the refund will be processed by IRCTC automatically.
  • If a train is partially cancelled, then TDR filing is necessary to obtain a refund from IRCTC.
Trainman Terms & Conditions
  • Trainman shall not be responsible for any delay, improper services provided by the provider of services, for any injury, death, loss, or damage caused by the act or default of the management or employees of the provider.
  • Trainman does not accept responsibility for losses and additional expenses, due to delays or changes in air, train, or other services, missed connections, sicknesses, weather, strikes, quarantine, or other causes, however, caused, and all such losses and expenses caused must be borne by the customer.
  • Trainman reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/change/withdraw or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part, this Offer by another offer, whether similar to this Offer or not, or to extend or withdraw it altogether.
  • Trainman is the sole authority for the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions.
  • Trainman shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising due to a force majeure event.
  • Trainman shall not be liable for any indirect, punitive, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the Offer. Notwithstanding anything contrary contained hereunder.
  • Trainman can suspend or terminate these terms and conditions/ Offer at any time for any reason at their discretion.
  • By participating in this Offer, the customer gives Trainman permission to use the customer's name, image and any other details, to promote the Offer or Trainman brand name or services.
  • In the event of any misuse or abuse of the Offer by the customer or travel agent, Trainman reserves the right to deny the offer or cancel the booking.
  • All disputes arising out of or in connection to this Offer are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Gautam Budh Nagar only.
